Maybe villas or hut. At Building Alternatives And Innovations, we prefer calling it Balai Saray. Whatever you call it, a modest shelter surrounded by remote nature is a common dream for many around the world. Ourselves very much included.

Though with remoteness comes the question of community. This modern tiny balai solves most design challenges to a degree you can imagine, as each variant bring sustainability and practicality into the mix where every Filipino can be proud of. This is an original local rendition of a contemporary Filipino abode designed for tiny home lifestyle.

Developed by Building Alternatives And Innovations Corp.(BALAI) design team led by young and energetic designer John Stephen Catolico, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture graduate of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology. He draws inspiration from the sustainable tiny home movement across the globe where ergonomic design fit for the Filipino is always top of mind. This segment is a growing industry and emerging as a lifestyle trend in the Philippines. The Balai Box Project directly aims to provide a premium cabin alternative which incorporate energy efficiency matched by structural stability that can withstand the conditions for a tropical country such as ours..
